As I watched Arizona coach Mike Stoops go stark-raving mad on the sideline Saturday, I wondered why someone from UA hasn’t told him his antics are hurting his team.

 When Dirk Koetter was angering ASU boosters and the local media with his condescending attitude, he needed someone above him on the food chain to point out the benefits of playing nice.

 Had he done so, perhaps he would have had more folks in his corner when times got tough.

 Arizona athletic director Jim Livengood should tell Stoops he needs to calm down. It’s one thing to be an intense coach who demands the most of his players. It’s another thing to lose control on the sideline and set a bad example for your team.
